Great Wall Motor's First Set Of Fully Self-developed High-end Powertrains in China Rolls Off The Production Line
In the next 5 years, the growth rate of aluminium for new energy vehicles will reach 49%
Recently, according to the China Aluminum Association, lightweight and new energy are expected to drive the increase in the aluminization rate of automobiles, and the amount of rolled materials in the structure will increase significantly.
At present, aluminium alloys for automobiles are mainly die-cast aluminium alloys, and the proportion of rolled plates is rapidly increasing with the increase of aluminium for bodywork. Cast aluminium alloy is the most used aluminium alloy type in most automobiles. It is widely used in structural parts such as wheels, engine parts, underframes, shock absorber brackets, and space frames. These parts have a high aluminization rate. Compared with cast aluminium alloys, wrought aluminium alloys mainly play a lighter role in the body, but because of the lower aluminization rate, the average application share in automobiles is still small. Daktronics’ survey shows that in 2016, wrought aluminium alloys accounted for only 34% of European automotive aluminium alloys (18% for rolled plates, 11% for extruded profiles, and 5% for forgings), with the rest being cast aluminium alloys. Only in some high-end models with all-aluminium bodies, the share of deformed aluminium alloys is much higher than that of cast aluminium alloys.
It is estimated that China's new energy automotive aluminium demand will reach 1.76 million tons in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 50% in 20-25. It is estimated that China's traditional automotive aluminium demand will reach 4.46 million tons in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.6% in 20-25. Assuming that the proportion of passenger cars in the next five years will remain unchanged, it is estimated that China's total automotive aluminium consumption will reach 4.46 million tons in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.6% from 2020 to 2025.
The first product of Ningbo Haiwei 6600T die-casting unit rolls off the assembly line
Recently, the off-line ceremony of the ultra-large structural parts produced by the 6600T die-casting unit of Ningbo Haiwei Auto Parts Co., Ltd. was grandly held. It is reported that the large-scale structural part rolled off the assembly line is an integrated battery pack product. The part has a length of 1400mm, a width of 900mm, a height of 0mm, and a weight of about 32kg. After the die-casting process is realized, the production cost can be reduced by 10% to 20%, and the process complexity is also greatly reduced.
It is reported that the large-scale die-casting structure is manufactured by Ningbo Haiwei's subsidiary Zhejiang Haiwei Auto Parts Co., Ltd. in its factory in Shengzhou, Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The company plans to install 6 large-scale die-casting equipment of 6600T and 9000T in the existing workshops of the Shaoxing production base, which are mainly used for the production of super large structural parts of new energy vehicles-front engine room, rear car body and battery pack box body. . At present, the company has established cooperative relations with a number of leading companies in new energy vehicles.
BYD New Energy Auto Parts Industrial Park settled in Xi'an
On December 5, BYD's new energy auto parts industrial park project signed a contract to land in Xi'an High-tech Zone. The project plans to invest a total of 15 billion yuan, mainly for the construction of core components such as electric assembly plants, motor plants, and electric control plants. After the project is completed and put into production, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of about 70 billion yuan. The completion of the new project will contribute to the development of advanced manufacturing industry clusters in Shaanxi Province.
Ningde Times Bangpu Integrated New Energy Industry Project Started
On December 4, Ningde Times Bangpu Integrated New Energy Industry Project officially started construction in Baiyang Industrial Park, Yichang High-tech Zone. The project takes the positive electrode material for the power battery of new energy vehicles as the core, and integrates the multi-link business of "phosphate rock-raw material-precursor-positive electrode material-battery recycling", covering the full life cycle of the battery.
The total investment of the project is about 32 billion yuan, covering an area of about 5,500 mu. It is planned to build an annual output of 360,000 tons of iron phosphate, 220,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, 180,000 tons of ternary precursors and materials, 40,000 tons of lithium cobalt oxide, 4 An ultra-large-scale production base with 10,000 tons of recycled graphite and 300,000 tons of battery recycling. It is expected that the first phase of production will be put into operation in 2023, and all will be put into production in 2025. After full production, it will be able to support battery cathode materials for more than 4 million new energy vehicles.
Great Wall Motor's super powertrain officially rolls off the production line
On December 4th, Great Wall Motors’ 3.0T+9AT super powertrain off-line ceremony was successfully held in Yongchuan, Chongqing. The successful holding of the off-line ceremony means that the 3.0T+9AT super powertrain has officially achieved global mass production, which strongly validates the hard-core strength of Great Wall Motors in the field of core power technology.
As the first set of fully self-developed high-end powertrains in China, Great Wall Motors 3.0T+9AT breaks the technical barriers of joint ventures and achieves a full leap in performance with many advanced innovative technologies. It is comparable to the international top level and can be called a milestone product in the traditional power field. Its mass production rollout marks the Chinese auto brand's official entry into the high-end product market, and it has an epoch-making position and value in the industry for the future. The first model of this powertrain is the Tank 500, which was recently released for pre-sale at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
